Justin,

Ok, let's take a look at your 8 points:
1. While an atrocity, that has no bearing on my personal rooting interest this weekend. Do I hate the Buckyes and am I sick to my stomach when they start talking trash? Of course.
2. Recruiting is only important if you win something as a result. Who cares if we "beat" OSU for a few players if we can't play for the national title because our conference sucks and is the red-headed step child of the last 5 years (even though the ACC is trash and Okla has lost 5 STRAIGHT BCS games which everyone seems to forget..why does the Big 12 get a pass here?)
3. Agree--so frustrating. Valid point
4. I would normally agree and you and I have talked about how we really have no loyalty to the Big Ten, but if we want to improve our chances to earn a BCS title spot (and that is what I am really talking about here..increasing our chances) Ohio St beating USC would at least temporarily (albeit falsely) restore SOME sense of Big Ten value. In short, we are no longer an independent so let's move on. We are fully entrenched in the Big Ten now.
5. Not true in my opinion. If Florida or Texas run the table, we are screwed no matter what happens. However, if either of them lose (plus USC loses to the Buckeyes), then we have at least have a shot of getting there along with teams like Alabama, Okla St, Ole Miss, etc should we run the table. If USC wins, then that is yet ANOTHER team who would (not could, but would) go to the title game over us. We at least control our own destiny more should USC lose since we play the team who beat them should OSU win
6. True, but an undefeated OSU team who beat a USC team gives our schedule SOME credibility at least.
7. You outlined it well
8. Rooting for Terrelle is nearly impossible but for the sake of PSU in the short term I will have to suck it up.

ONE HUGE CAVEAT TO WHAT I JUST WROTE: If PSU loses sometime this year, I will completely regret rooting for the Bucknuts this weekend vs USC because then although yes it would do some damage control for the Big Ten rep, it would mean Ohio St would then be considered the class of the Big Ten again. And while we are at, how they claim to "have won 4 straight Big Ten titles" is an absolute crime. I hate the Big Ten for this silly and outdated rule where head to head in a tiebreaker is irrelevant.
